Lunch seminar on how young Russians see the future

2015 has been filled with challenges. Too often we forget to listen to the yonger generation as the worlds leaders stir up emotions.

On January 8, 2015 you are invited to a luch seminar on how young Russians see the future. A panel of distinguishes sholars and experts will discuss the matter from a wide variety of angles.

We are pleased to introduce Maria Snegovaya, Elis Hendell and Daria Krivono in a discussion moderated by Jaan Siitonen.

About the speakers:
Maria Snegovaya - is a columnist and a doctoral candidate at Columbia University, USA. She has written extensively on contemporary Russian politics. Among her published papers is "Stifling the Public Sphere - Media and Civil Society in Russia". She is a sought after panelist in Washington D.C.

Elis Hendell - is the chair or Swedish Youth in Turku. He studies politics in both Finland and Russia. He is currently studying Russian culture and language at Åbo Akademi. He has lived in Russia as an exchange student.

Daria Krivono - is a doctoral candidate in Sociology at the University of Helsinki, Department of Social Research. Her research interests include youth studies. Currently she is doing doctoral research on young Russian-speakers' employment in Finland as a part of "Migrant Youth Employment-Politics of Recognition and Boundaries of Belonging".

Jaan Siitonen - (moderator) works as political advisor at Svenska Bildningsförbundet. He has previously worked in Washington D.C. as a Visiting Fellow at Center for Transatlantic Relations, SAIS.
